Mary faced one of the most daunting tasks and humbling privileges assigned to anyone in human history—to carry the child of God in her womb.
We know that Mary and Joseph were poor from the sacrifice they gave at the Temple; we know that Mary was young and unwed when she became pregnant with Jesus. But she demonstrated remarkable courage and faith in the face of crisis. We never hear her complain about her situation. She relied on her family when times became hard for her, and she accomplished her task with grace.
She was with Jesus his entire life, watching him die from the foot of the cross. She was an amazing woman, a loving mother, and a devout Christian.
Mary said, “I am the servant of the Lord. Let this happen to me as you say!” Luke 1:38 NCV
