One Girl’s Dream at Revolve in Atlanta, GA

God did some amazing things at Dream On in Atlanta, GA. We LOVE listening to all of the stories! Like this one…

The next day, during lunch at the conference, I told my friend and our Women’s Ministry director, Marci, how I felt God placed Kathryn on the Revolve tour just for us. Kathryn spoke to [my daughter’s] heart. She inspired her and I expressed that I sure wished Anna could meet her.

I think I said, “Marci, it would mean so much to Anna to meet Kathryn. I sure wish I’d thought ahead to purchase a ticket. I’m sure she’s ministered to many, but I felt her testimony was delivered especially to my daughter. There couldn’t possibly be anyone who could relate to Kathryn’s journey more . . .”

And then without missing a beat, a young girl sweetly appeared from the masses of teens in the fast food line to our little huddle of friends. She was holding a ticket and approached us . . .

This week: Groundhog Day & more!

Hey there, Revolve girls! The first month of 2011 is almost over.  Isn’t it crazy how quickly the time goes by?  We’ve already had our first two Revolve Tour events of the year so things are very busy around here!

Thanks for checking out the blog today! Here’s what we have going on this week:

Tuesday A special video message from Jamie Grace.  She’s a bundle of energy and always willing to share her heart and talents with the rest of us.

Wednesday Don’t forget to download your thought bubble for ‘Where Are You Wednesday?!’

Know what else is happening on Wednesday? Groundhog Day!! According to legend, if the groundhog pops up his little head on February 2 and it’s cloudy then winter is over and spring will begin.  However, if he comes up and sees his shadow the he’ll run back into his burrow which means we will have 6 more weeks of winter.  So, are you ready for spring or more winter?  We’re guessing SPRING!

Thursday Check back with us on Thursday for a special devotional written to encourage you and your relationship with God.

Friday We’ll be sharing a special video on Friday that you don’t want to miss.  Also, The Revolve Tour will be headed to Kansas City this weekend.  Please pray for us!

As always, we’re thankful for you and so excited to be a part of your life.  Have a wonderful week!!

I Know I Should Break Up with Him, But . . .

I Know I Should Break Up with Him, But . . .

You’ve been told not to be “unequally yoked” or joined together with a non-Christian (2 Corinthians 6:14). Basically, this means don’t partner with a boyfriend who’s going a different direction—you’ll either end up fighting or following him down the wrong path. Someone who makes you compromise your values isn’t good for you, no matter who he is. Before long, you’ll get so comfortable in the wrong relationship that you won’t want out (even if it’s bad). If you want God’s best, you’ve got to let certain things go. You might say “But Christian guys are all weird!” That’s no excuse. Trust God to bring the best one, and stick to your values!

You are not the same as those who do not believe. So do not join yourselves to them. Good and bad do not belong together. Light and darkness cannot share together. 2 Corinthians 6:14 NCV

Introducing Grand Canyon University

Choosing a college is not easy . . . there are so many factors to take into consideration. Will I get a good education there? Can I afford it? What kind of programs do they have? Will the people there support my faith? (And that’s just the beginning!)

We don’t have all the answers—but we do have an option we’d like you to consider. Grand Canyon University offers an affordable, convenient, quality education. You can take classes at their beautiful campus (outside Phoenix, AZ), online, or both. GCU cultivates a community of students, faculty, staff and alumni who care about each other―in a “salt and light” environment that places Biblical values at the forefront of the educational experience.

GCU offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in a wide variety of in-demand career fields, including all areas of business, Christian studies and ministry, education, nursing, counseling, health care, justice, and media arts. They’re not the new school on the block, either. GCU has been preparing critical thinkers, effective communicators and responsible leaders in an academically challenging, values-based curriculum with a Christian worldview for more than 60 years. Beyond that, GCU is recognized as having some of the best education programs in the nation by some pretty impressive sources (including Fortune Small Business, Technology & Learning Magazine, and FoxNews.com).

GCU’s online programs let you go to class anywhere you can get connected. Your bedroom, the local coffee shop, under a tree . . . it’s up to you. Study at any time of the day or night (you choose!), and still enjoy connecting with your classmates and instructor in online discussions. And if you ever have “technical difficulties” you can take advantage of 24/7 technical support through their state-of-the-art Angel system.

GCU faithfully offers students:

  • Convenience. Classes offered on campus, online or a combination of both.
  • Christian Worldview. All bachelor’s degree curriculums at GCU include a mandatory Christian worldview class to insure an educational perspective of Biblical truth.
  • Personal Attention. With an average class size of 20 students, you’ll receive mentoring from professors that know you by name.
  • Affordability. Tuition rates at GCU are 30-50% less than other comparable, private universities. Earn a quality private school education without spending the fortune you would elsewhere.
  • Transfer Friendly. Transfer up to 90 credits toward your bachelor’s degree. We will request your transcripts, evaluate your graduate coursework, and determine in 48 hours your anticipated graduation date. No GRE or entrance exam required.
  • Program Selection. A wide range of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs are available in Christian studies, education, business, health care and liberal arts.
  • Earlier graduation. Our 4-credit programs allow you to complete your degree program faster.
  • Athletics. Grand Canyon University is a NCAA Division II school with our ‘Lopes teams competing in many different sports. In fact, nine of our baseball players have gone to the major leagues.
  • Ministry Opportunities. Students can become involved in online and campus chapel services, mission trips, adopt-a-block and more.
  • Fellowship. Students can connect with other Christians throughout their online and traditional campus courses and learn how to apply their values in their daily life.
  • Accredited. Grand Canyon University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (800-621-7440; http://www.ncahlc.org/).

It can’t hurt to look, right? Find out more about Grand Canyon University here.
