Love? The Feeling is Mutual

Love? The Feeling is Mutual

God is all about your business. When you ask him to step in and take over, he makes a stronger commitment to you than you could ever make to him. He knows when you share that juicy bit of gossip and that you want to do things you know you shouldn’t. God sees every single detail, and he loves you anyway. God isn’t like the flaky boyfriend that you wore yourself out trying to impress at soccer camp. His love is bigger and deeper than any human emotion. Believe him when he says that nothing—nada, zilch—can separate you from his love.

Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 NCV

Luci Swindoll at The Revolve Tour

One of the best things about Women of Faith and The Revolve Tour is the feeling that we really are a family! Remember this Revolve video from Women of Faith speaker, Luci Swindoll?

She recently attended The Revolve Tour in Garland, TX and shares her thoughts about the event below. We loved having Luci join us!!

Please tell us about your experience at Garland Revolve:

It was delightful to be onsite for this Revolve Tour… and see it first hand. Nobody would know it was the very first event for the year. Everything moved like clockwork. I loved the flow of it all. So much talent onstage, as well as backstage. Everything is geared to attract teenagers, but I have to say that I too was moved by the messages, drama, music… and I’m in my 70s. It’s all so appealing for any age. [Same truths... in a different format.]

I want to especially say that I so respected the honesty and transparency of the speakers… whether that was a “solo” speaker or someone answering questions in an interview.

I loved the freshness of Kathryn McCormick… her dances are so unlike anyone else’s, and those moves are unbelievable. Are those her real legs? And it was wonderful to have Jamie Grace tell of her struggle, growing up with Tourette Syndrome and how she’s dealt with it. She’s so professional and a fine speaker. Of course, I loved hearing Jenna and Chad… two very gifted speakers and fun to hear again. They lend a LOT of experience to the whole program.

The drama team and worship team are also gifted and add great diversity to the overall experience… as does Courtney, who was born to emcee!

I’ve heard Group One Crew and Hawk Nelson before and was so glad to see them back again. Such loud, fun, funky, over-the-top music. Loved every note.

One thing I want to say before I quit is that EVERYONE is so kind, thoughtful of others, caring and wanting to do a professional job. That shows from the guy beating the drum to the lighting expert. I LOVE REVOLVE.

Why would you encourage a teenage girl or youth leader to attend The Revolve Tour?

I don’t think there’s anything else quite like it on the face of the earth… certainly not in churches today. Some church programs may come close, but to have this composite of talent in one place, on one stage, at one time… is totally unique.

It’s a “moment in time” for the attendee — whoever she may be. The girl who attends gets to see young people her age, doing that at which they are gifted. She gets to hear stories about dealing with problems SHE is dealing with… and she is made to reflect on her own life — what she struggles with, what she fears she will never overcome, what she wants in life but doesn’t know how to ask God for it.

The girl who attends also gets to be herself without any strings attached: she can sing, yell, scream, dance, be with her friends, act crazy, meet the cast, and come away encouraged and wanting to have a closer relationship with God… BECAUSE she has seen that it works for other people her age. It’s contagious.

And, the Youth Leader who attends will be encouraged to be better at what she does… and/or she’ll want to bring a gang of girls to the next REVOLVE because she knows it’s too good to miss. It’s dynamite!

Words to Live By

Words to Live By

Spoken by Christians for centuries, this passage, known as The Lord’s Prayer, is among the most well-known Scripture. These words, spoken by Jesus as he instructed his followers on how to pray, can encourage us daily as we walk through our lives. These verses assure us that God is in control, that he is Lord of this earth, and that he has the power to provide everything we need. God gave this simple humbling prayer to us, his church.

Repeating these words when you are fearful, when you are anxious, or when you are overwhelmed can remind you that God is greater than anything you are up against.

So when you pray, you should pray like this:  ’Our Father in heaven, may your name always be kept holy.   May your kingdom come and what you want be done, here on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us the food we need for each day. Forgive us for our sins, just as we have forgiven those who sinned against us.  And do not cause us to be tempted, but save us from the Evil One.’ The kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13 NCV
